Cookie Information
Cookie Policy
What cookies and similar technologies we use, why we use them, and how you can control them. Issued under the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and the UK GDPR.
Quick summary
- Essential cookies are required for the site to work and are always on.
- Analytics cookies help us understand which pages are useful — they are off by default and only set if you consent.
- We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
- You can change your preferences at any time using your browser settings or the on-site banner.
1. What Are Cookies and Similar Technologies?
Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device (computer, tablet, or smartphone) when you visit it. Cookies are widely used to make websites work, to work more efficiently, to remember preferences, and to provide information to website owners.
In this Policy, "cookies" includes other similar technologies such as web beacons, pixel tags, local storage, session storage, IndexedDB, and software development kits (SDKs) that perform comparable functions.
Cookies do not, on their own, contain personally identifiable information, but they may be linked to personal data we already hold about you. This Policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
2. Legal Basis for Cookies
Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR) and the UK GDPR, we may only place non-essential cookies on your device with your prior consent. We rely on the following bases:
- Strictly necessary cookies: PECR Regulation 6(4) exemption — these are essential to deliver a service you have requested and do not require consent.
- Performance / analytics, functional, and other non-essential cookies: your prior, informed, freely given consent given through our cookie banner. You can withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
Where consent is required, the cookie banner remembers your choice for 12 months, after which we will ask again. You can also change your choice at any time using the "Cookie Preferences" link in the website footer (where present) or by clearing the site's cookies in your browser, which will trigger the banner to reappear on your next visit.
3. How We Use Cookies
We use cookies on the Site for the following purposes:
- To make the Site load and function correctly for all visitors.
- To keep you signed in to the client portal and protect against forged form submissions.
- To analyse, on an aggregated and pseudonymised basis, how the Site is used so we can improve performance, content, and user experience.
- To remember preferences you set, such as language or whether you have dismissed a notice.
- To enable third-party tools we rely on, such as Google Analytics for analytics, Stripe for fraud prevention during payment, and scheduling tools for booking calls.
- To comply with legal and regulatory obligations, including evidence of consent for non-essential cookies.
4. Categories of Cookies We Use
The cookies on this Site fall into the following categories:
Strictly Necessary
Essential for the website to function. They enable core functionality such as page navigation, security, load balancing, CSRF protection, and access to secure areas. Without these cookies the website cannot operate properly.
Performance & Analytics
Help us understand how visitors interact with the website by collecting and reporting information anonymously — for example, which pages are visited most often, time spent on each page, and any error messages encountered. We use Google Analytics for this purpose, with IP anonymisation enabled.
Functional
Remember the choices you make (such as preferred language or region, theme, or whether you have dismissed a notice) so we can provide enhanced, more personal features. These may be set by us or by third-party providers whose services we use on the Site.
Targeting / Advertising
We do not currently use targeting or advertising cookies and we do not run third-party advertising on the Site. If this changes, we will update this Policy and request your consent before any such cookies are set.
5. The Specific Cookies We Set
The table below lists the named cookies and identifiers used on the Site at the time of the last update. Cookie names and durations may change without notice as our tools evolve; this list is indicative.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration | Category |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| tsvweb_session | TsvWeb | Maintains your authenticated session in the client portal. | Session | Strictly Necessary |
| tsvweb_csrf | TsvWeb | Protects against cross-site request forgery on form submissions. | Session | Strictly Necessary |
| tsvweb_consent | TsvWeb | Stores your cookie preferences so we don't ask again on every visit. | 12 months | Strictly Necessary |
| _ga / _ga_* | Google Analytics | Distinguishes unique visitors and stores aggregated session data. | Up to 24 months | Performance & Analytics |
| _gid | Google Analytics | Distinguishes users for short-term analytics reporting. | 24 hours | Performance & Analytics |
| __stripe_mid / __stripe_sid | Stripe | Fraud-prevention identifiers used during payment flows. | Session — 1 year | Strictly Necessary |
6. Third-Party Cookies
Some cookies on the Site are set by third-party services we use. These third parties process cookie data under their own privacy and cookie policies, and we do not control their cookie behaviour:
Google Analytics
Aggregated, pseudonymised analytics about website use.
Google Calendar / Scheduling
Embedded booking widget for discovery calls.
Stripe
Fraud prevention and secure payment processing.
Resend
Email delivery for transactional messages (link tracking only).
Where third-party cookies are non-essential, they will only be set after you have given consent through our cookie banner.
7. How to Manage and Disable Cookies
You have the right to accept or reject non-essential cookies. You can manage cookie settings in several ways:
Google Chrome
Settings → Privacy and Security → Cookies and other site data
Mozilla Firefox
Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
Apple Safari
Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
Microsoft Edge
Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies
iOS Safari
Settings → Safari → Privacy & Security
Android Chrome
Settings → Site settings → Cookies
You can also opt out of Google Analytics specifically by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Many browsers also offer a "Do Not Track" or "Global Privacy Control" signal; we respect GPC where it is sent.
Please note: Disabling cookies — particularly strictly necessary ones — may affect the functionality of the Site, including the ability to log in or complete transactions. Strictly necessary cookies cannot be disabled through our banner because the Site cannot operate without them.
8. Your Consent and Withdrawing Consent
On your first visit to the Site, our cookie banner will explain the categories of cookies we use and ask whether you consent to non-essential cookies. You can:
- Accept all cookies — we will set strictly necessary, performance, and functional cookies.
- Reject all non-essential cookies — only strictly necessary cookies will be set.
- Make a granular choice by category — only the categories you select will be set.
We record your consent decision (the date, the categories accepted, and a consent-version identifier) so we can demonstrate compliance with PECR and UK GDPR. You can withdraw or change your consent at any time. Where consent is required, we will request it again every 12 months even if you have not changed your settings.
9. Other Tracking Technologies
Beyond cookies, we may use the following technologies, all of which are governed by this Policy:
- Local storage and session storage — small amounts of data stored in your browser. Cleared when you clear site data.
- Web beacons / pixels — tiny images embedded in emails or pages used to record opens and clicks for transactional emails.
- Server logs — technical data such as IP address and user-agent recorded by our server, retained for security and diagnostic purposes (see the Privacy Policy).
We do not use device fingerprinting, cross-site tracking, or behavioural advertising technologies on the Site.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy periodically to reflect changes in technology, legal requirements, or the cookies we use. Material changes will be communicated by updating the date at the top of this page and, for ongoing visitors, by re-prompting the cookie banner so you can review the updated categories.
Older versions of this Policy are available on request from hello@tsvweb.com.
